Project Overview

The Teddy Bear Health Fair is an annual community event organized by the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids. Mobilize Africa was proud to participate in this engaging initiative that introduces children to healthcare concepts in a fun, approachable way.

Our Involvement

At our booth, we created interactive stations where children could learn about basic medical procedures and health education. Children were given the opportunity to:

  • Use stethoscopes to listen to heart sounds
  • Learn about proper handwashing techniques
  • Assemble simple first aid kits to take home
  • Understand the importance of vaccinations
  • Explore medical equipment in a non-threatening environment

Impact

Through this event, we were able to engage with over 200 children and their families, helping to reduce anxiety about medical visits and procedures. By making healthcare concepts approachable and fun, we hope to inspire the next generation of healthcare advocates and professionals.
